The first day was very good. There was 37 riders registered and after a short meeting and registration the wind picked up. From the beginning it was obvious that it’s not going to be just another efpt contest but it will be a hard fight for victory. The level on the water was just unbelievable and easily matched world cup contests. My first heat was against Ollie Scott a rider and an instructor from a local widsurf center called club vass. Just before the heat the judges had some problems with the flag and both me and Ollie started the heat a bit late. I sailed pretty good but not on the highest level. I won that heat and in the next one I’ve met Steven Van Broeckhoven. It was a really good heat. Steven sailed awesome and it was really difficult to do something about it. I did a double gozzada, cana brava, shaka cana brava and all the standard moves like spock grubby, flaka etc. plus I’ve done four switch moves but unfortunately it was not enough to beat the outstanding Belgium rider. I’m quite happy about that heat but now I see I could risk a bit more and make more hard moves. Andre Paskowski lost to Nicolas Akzazcyan who is in very good form. That was a first surprise. Andre met Normen Gunzlein in the looser final and easily that was the best heat on that day. Andre and Normen fought on the highest world level. Burner one handed, switch chachoo into puneta, double eslider, double spock, toad and all the newest moves were done fluently and a top speed. Normen did a bit more technical moves and hew became third in the single elimination. In the final Nicolas sailed more constant and he won the single elimination and Anxton Otaegui became second. At the moment we wait for the wind and as soon as it will come we start a double elimination. The forecast is good so I hope we can finish the contest in good conditions and I can advance few more places before the end.
See you
